SPIKE HEAD WARCLUB 19TH Century
Eastern Ballhead Warclub
Wonderful spike head eastern ballclub with tacking surrounding the ballhead. Tacks are old all-brass. The hardwood has an old original surface, showing much age and wear. The spike is anchored in the head with lead which is nicely patinated. Probably Iroquois and first half of the 19th century. The club measures 25 inches in extreme length with the head measuring 7 1/2 inches from the tip of the hand forged spike to the outer edge of the haft. The hand wrought spike measures 2 1/4 inches from tip the ball. The ball diameter is approximately 3 inches. The haft has a medial ridge typical of 18th and 19th century native clubs.
CONDITION: Excellent with old surface.
